All Purpose Test Instrument for Industrial Electric Vehicle Fleet Maintenance:
  • The SIRIUS AMPERE HOUR PROVER is a diagnostic test instrument designed to check the performance of industrial batteries, chargers and vehicle electrical systems under actual operation. The instrument is easy to install and provides accurate performance measurements in a highly readable form.
  • The SIRIUS AMPERE HOUR PROVER is designed to work with batteries for 24V and 48V upto 1500Ah battery and displays typical performance parameters like instantaneous voltage, instantaneous current draw, run-time and discharged/charged Ampere-hours in an alphanumeric LCD display.
  • The instantaneous current is displayed as a signed number: ‘+’ for charging and ‘-’ for discharging.   
    The Ampere-hour register counts up or down depending on whether the battery is under charging or is working into a load. The Ampere-hour count is also displayed as a signed number – this reading represents the net Ah drawn from/restored, to the battery from the instant the instrument is connected.
  • The run-time register counts up when current is drawn from the battery, which provides information about actual working hours of the battery in the vehicle.

Features
  • LED Indications:        NORMAL, LOW BATT and LOCKOUT
  • Audio Annunciation: Buzzer activated at LOW BATT condition.
  • Lift Motor Lockout:   LOCK OUT relay will activate when either the on-discharge voltage or the Ah drained from the battery falls below programmable thresholds whichever is earlier. Relay N/O and N/C contacts are brought out for wiring to the lift motor.
 
 
APPLICATIONS


CHECK BATTERY CAPACITY ON USE

  • Take a fully charged battery, connect the AHP, use the truck till battery is 80 % discharged. An audio buzzer will start when low batt condition is reached. The Ah reading on the unit will display the Ah used.
  • This can be used to determine the battery sizing for a particular application.
  • It can also be used to determine the number of trucks required as well as usage of each truck.
  • This can be used to size the fleet.

CHECK BATTERY CHARGER PERFORMANCE

  • Take an 80% discharged battery. Connect the AHP and charge the battery. The charger will cut off after the battery is charged. The display will show the Ah returned. This can show the efficiency of the charger.
  • The time taken to recharge will also be displayed. This will give data in confirming if the charger is an 8/10/12 Hr charger.
  • This Ah returned figure will also indicate the present acceptance capacity of the battery. This will help in scheduling battery replacements and procurement.
  • The AHP can be used to accept new batteries at stores. It can be used to check new chargers.

EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS

  • Electric battery operated equipment manufacturers can use the AHP to test battery efficiency, sizing of vehicle.
  • The instantaneous current and voltage display can be used to check motors, controller’s etc.

BATTERY MANUFACTURERS

  • It is an invaluable tool for traction battery manufacturers.
  • They can use to prove Ah capacity to clients.
  • It can be used to predict battery requirements by testing old batteries and predicting when replacement batteries are required.
  • It can be used to recommend battery capacities for specific application by actually calculating the Ah required for a specific duty cycle.
